Prentiss Douthit lives, paints, laughs, and writes stories in a little old house in Austin, Texas. He was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama, and earned a BFA in graphic design and painting from the University of Montevallo, a small liberal arts college in the literal center of the state of Alabama. His life as an artist has taken him around the world and is filled with adventure and great introspection. He is returning home to celebrate his new book, How to Draw the Sky. It is the story of his journey to understanding the power of creativity and how it contributes to his place in the world. His book has paintings, drawings, and collages inspired by the story. Enjoy an entertaining evening of conversation, dinner, wine, and words from Prentiss about his new book. Books and a limited number of prints will be available for purchase. Space is limited to 50 guests. Cost: $100. Dinner will be a Lagniappe dinner catered by the Burningtree Country Club.
