Keys to Expressive Landscapes, Instructor’s Supply List

  • Titanium White
  • Cadmium yellow light or similar color
  • Yellow Ochre or similar color
  • Cadmium red light or Cad Red or similar color
  • Alizarin Crimson or Quinacridone Red or similar color
  • Transparent Red oxide or Burnt Sienna or similar color
  • Ultramarine Blue
  • Viridian or Cobalt Blue or similar color
  • Ivory Black

Variety of Paint Brushes:

  • Natural Oil Brushes such as Signet Robert Simmons #3, #5, #7 #10 Flat or Filbert mix
  • A few Synthetic Brushes (Flat)
  • A small round for signing (can be watercolor or acrylic brush)

Painting Surfaces:

  • 3 canvas panels for your final painting 9×12 or 8×10.
  • 3 small canvas panels for color studies – approx. 6×8

Misc.

  • 1 Roll of Paper Towels
  • Plastic Garbage Bag (grocery store bags)
  • 2 or more Palette Knives of different shapes
  • Palette to put paint on

*Note: Whatever you use to put your paint on, make sure it is big, so you have room to mix, I like to get a piece of Plexiglas at Lowes (has them already cut) about 16 x 20 (exact size is not important) and put a piece of cardboard under it so it has a neutral surface behind it. It is a bit hard to carry so it is good to have a box to put it in. You can buy a plastic one with a lid at art supply stores.

  • Baby Wipes (optional) – Great for clean up
  • Small sketchbook for notes and pencil
  • Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirit and container, extra small container (DO NOT USE ANY OTHER KIND)

Please note: Supplies in the area are very limited.
