Pat Snow

Pat Snow embarked on his art practice after studying and collaborating with Robert Colescott and the Reverend Howard Finster. Through these experiences, he delved into the use of humor and narrative in art. Drawing remains Snow’s chosen medium for expressing his concerns and desires. He employs the clichés and vernacular of a storyteller, perpetually rearranging the visuals and stories he encounters to critique and explore narrative. His textual influences include literary giants such as William Faulkner, William S. Burroughs, and Richard Pryor. Gathering raw materials from personal experiences, popular media, bad jokes, and art history, Snow recontextualizes them through his thoughts and emotions.
