Mrs. Briscoe says of her artistic life, work, and relationships:

“My students’ talent and diversity has always amazed me. I’ve taught art for forty-six years, with students in some families for four generations. My students have ranged from age six to nearly one hundred years old. We work with pencil, charcoal, pastels, pen and ink, watercolor, acrylic, oils, “sculpey” clay and encaustics. Now I have about forty students but have taught as many as one hundred per week. My classes have about ten students and I teach Monday thru Wednesday. The rest of the week I am painting my own work, going to museums and reading lots of art literature.

“It’s very important for artists to have a venue to show their hard work. I feel like the luckiest person in the world because I get to work with art every day and people who are like family to me. My studio has always been in my home with my family close by. Art is such a relaxing and happy pastime for me. It is a mood-lifter every time I go into the studio and see the smiling faces eager to work on their projects.”
