We Are the Music Makers!

October 2-November 16, 2018

This exhibit educates and engages viewers in the cultural history of traditional Southern music. Photos and stories from Music Maker musicians will highlight how poverty, geography and age have limited the exposure of these artists, questioning the widespread idea that these musical traditions they perform have “died out”.    

October 4, 2018-Member’s Music Makers Reception & Award Winning River Clay Student Art Reception-6 pm-7:30 pm *Special Musical Guest. Members FREE | Guests $5.00. Light snacks and beverages will be served.

October 25, 2018- Microwave Dave in Concert- 7pm Celebrate the history of the blues. Seating is limited. Call 256-341-0562 to reserve your seat.

October 26, 2018- Lunch & Learn at the Carnegie- Noon at the Carnegie. Joey Brackner, Director, Center for Traditional Culture & the Alabama Blues project will be performing. Bring your lunch and  learn more about the history of southern music
