March 6 – April 14, 2018 — Embracing Art : A Coming Together of Area Amateur & Professional Artists was the inaugural exhibition at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center in 2003. The annual show now commemorates the opening of the Carnegie Visual Arts Center as a place of art for all people, and celebrates the creative spirit of Decatur, Alabama. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces for consideration, and accepted works are selected by jury. Presented for the 16th time, the exhibit feature works in multiple mediums, highlighting the talent of area artists. Awards include Best of Show, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, Honorable Mention, and Director’s Choice.
