With over 50 works by the faculty of the Troy University College of Communication and Fine Arts, Sense of Place has its roots in the works of Pam Allen. In 2005, she started a series of paintings  “to visit the past and address the present simultaneously.” Her art eventually started “taking on a new life as I explore new places and new experiences, A Sense of Place is an ongoing series. The direction of this work can seem sporadic much like trying to chart random thought.” For this exhibit she has opened up the theme to her fellow artists to see the directions and interpretations that other perspectives may create. The exhibit includes paintings, drawings, encaustics, sculptures, photographs and mixed media pieces. The group of artists includes Pam Allen, Sara Dismukes, Russell Everett, Jerry Johnson, Beverly Leach, Ed Noriega, Larry Percy, Greg Skaggs, and Emily Williams. The exhibit is sponsored in part by Troy University College of Communication and Fine Arts.
