The Carnegie Visual Arts Center presents ArtWalk Festival, a public art event of the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. The free annual outdoor art festival is located in the area of Founders Park in front of the Old State Bank and historic Bank Street, two blocks from the Carnegie Visual Arts Center.
Friday events will include artist check-in and set up, and the Preview Party which features the delectable culinary artistry of local chefs and a time to preview the ArtWalk Festival and purchase your favorite art in advance. Starting off early Saturday morning is the 5K Brooke Hill Ovarian Cancer Run for Awareness and 1 mile Fun Run. Saturday’s activities will be open to the public and will feature:
- Preview Party at Amberley Suite Hotel – $25/ person (advanced purchase)
- Artisan workshops (Download registration forms: Shaker Box Making or Beginning Rug Hooking)
- Artists’ and artisans’ displays
- Art demonstrations
- Activities at the Old State Bank
- Live bands on stage
- Food vendors
- Multiple children’s’ art activities under the Kiwanis Creation Station tent
- Kick-off for Carnegie Carnival 2013
Paid reservations to the Preview Party may be made from July 23 – August 9th at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. ArtWalk Festival© is an event of the Carnegie Visual Arts Center. The festival is sponsored in part by Kiwanis Club of Decatur, Morgan County Child Advocacy Center and Decatur Downtown Redevelopment Authority.
