The Carnegie Visual Arts Center, in coordination with the Decatur Concert Association, presents pianist Mr. Robert Cowan. For over forty years, Robert Cowan has performed piano concerts. He travels with his 7-foot Hamburg Steinway to his engagements throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Additional concert tours have taken him to the Far East, Russia, Austria and Czechoslovakia.
Robert Cowan has studied with Joseph Raieff at Julliard (B.S. and M.S. Degrees), Cecile Genhart at the Eastman School of Music (D.M.A.), and with Harold Craxton as a Fulbright Scholar at the Royal Academy of Music (L.R.A.M.). Mr. Cowan has been duo-pianists-in-residence at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama with his former wife, noted pianist Joan Yarbough, and an artist-faculty member at the Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina. He currently lives in Montevallo, Alabama and has a busy solo piano performance schedule.
