Dear Friends
Famed Alabamian, Larry Chandler, left an indelible mark on modern art as a wildlife artist and portrait painter. Devotees of his work say he captured the very soul of his subjects, both human and otherwise. In reality, he did more than that – he captured the heart of his subjects and that of all those who have come to appreciate his work.
The Carnegie Visual Arts Center invites you to participate in a very special opportunity to honor Larry and his work. In concert with the Chandler Family, the Carnegie has established the Larry Chandler Fine Arts Scholarship in recognition and memory of Larry and to provide financial assistance to art students allowing them to reach their artistic goals. Your donation will help support students who are striving to make their mark on the art world just as Larry did with his magnificent works.
Applications for the Larry Chandler Fine Arts Scholarship will be made available at area high schools through their guidance departments. The first scholarship recipients will be selected in the spring of 2009 and awards will be based on merit as well as financial need.
We look forward to your participation in this very meaningful tribute to Larry Chandler. Please know that your contribution will be greatly appreciated and all gifts will be acknowledged to the Chandler family. The Carnegie Visual Arts Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization; Federal Tax ID #41-2074921. Donations should be made payable to the Carnegie Visual Arts Center and marked “Chandler Scholarship.” All donations are considered charitable contributions and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
With warmest regards,
Laura Harris Phillips
