Artists Sidewalk Sale and Iron Pour

Two fun-filled days including artists and artisans, food, live music, live art demos, and children’s art activities. Two iron pour events by Alabama Art Casting including the Spectacular Night Pour on Friday at 9 PM and a High Noon Pour on Saturday. Scratch block molds will be for sale at the Carnegie on August 1, 2008. Come by the Carnegie ready to carve during regular hours, or take it with you, carve it at home, and bring it back by Friday, August 22nd.
The fun begins on Friday, Aug. 22nd at 5 PM. The artists will be displaying their creations available for purchase and your pre-ordered BBQ Dinner from B.B. Perrins Sports Grille will be available for pick-up. You can Pre-order you Block Party BBQ Dinner by downloading this PDF order form and returning it to the Carnegie by Wednesday,August 20th. For an awesome conclusion to part one of the Artists Sidewalk Sale, Alabama Art Casting will fire up their cupola furnace behind the Carnegie and pour molten steel into open and closed sand molds. The Spectacular Night Pour is not something you want to miss.
Then on Saturday morning, bright and early, come participate in the Brooke Hill Run for Awareness a certified road race to benefit the Brooke Hill Ovarian Cancer Education Fund. Registration starts at 6:45 AM and the 5K and 1K runs are at 8 AM and 9AM, respectively. Registration forms available at Carnegie or PDF form by email. $12 for 5K and $10 for 1K during early registration by Aug. 22 or $15 for either on race day.
Artists will again have their art available for viewing and purchasing from 7 AM until 2 PM. If you missed the Iron Pour the night before, you have a second chance to purchase and carve your mold in time for the second firing of the iron furnace and High Noon Pour.
There will be a Super Street Sale by the merchants on Bank Street. See what fabulous bargains can be found at their end of the summer sales event.
And after looking for bargains on Bank Steet, stroll through the Historic Old Decatur neighborhood for their annual Attic Sale.
