2007 Camp Carnegie a huge success!

By • Jul 18th, 2007 • Category: News

This year at the 5th annual Camp Carnegie, art campers explored the different types of sculpting and 3-dimensional art in a variety of mediums. Tammie Jacob returned for her 3rd year as Camp Director. She is an elementary art teacher for the Decatur City School system during the school year. Camp dates started at the end of June, finish the beginning of August, and are divided into sessions by age. Each regular session is three hours per day for 5 days running Condensed Camp Carnegie sessions, for our older campers, covers the same curriculum in three, 6 hour days. This year campers learned about artists such as Alexander Calder and Dale Chihuly while creating their own masterpieces. Also, we studied the sculpture of Dennis Brickell, whose work was on exhibit at the Carnegie throughout the camp.
